An optical wedge (wedge prism) is identical to an optical window except that the two plane surfaces are inclined with respect to each other at some specified angle. Common names for a wedge include wedged window and thick or thin prisms. Used as a wedged window, an optical wedge can control the direction of back-reflected light at each surface.
